Embodying power and femininity in one collection.
Be the Change is an original 6-piece collection designed by Riya Raj Gogoi. As the creative director and editor, I created an audio/visual project that was played prior to the designer's catwalk at the Fashion for Change 10th anniversary showcase.
With Fashion for Change approaching its 10th year anniversary, we challenged our designers to create collections based on their experiences at the charity fashion show. Riya Raj Gogoi was inspired by the female dancers and models in the community, and decided to base her collection on female empowerment and body positivity. To prepare for this shoot, I created a moodboard that incorporated traditionally "feminine" touches such as lace and flowers that existed in her designs, as well as makeup references for our MUA's.
10th ANNIVERSARY BRANDING
BE THE CHANGE
After preparing for the shoot, our team of videographers and photographers recreated a dreamy set for our model. We filmed both a documentary-style interview, as well as plenty of B-roll to tease Gogoi's designs onscreen during the event, as well as across social media channels in the days leading up to the show. To introduce our designers prior to each collection, I also created a graphic animation that could be reused for every designer, and that followed the brand guidelines for our 10th Anniversary theme: LEGACY.
Be the change
I would love to be able to do more conceptual shoots such as this, since the energy on set is incredible! I also really enjoyed collaborating with a larger team, because it allowed us to create a wide variety of visually coherent deliverables, from social media content to video teasers.
